Disciple Now Banquet - August 13th

This year's Disciple Now Banquet is this Wednesday, August 13th at 7:00 p.m. in the FLC gym.  Theme is "Power," so feel free to dress up as anything "Electrifying!"

Disciple Now - August 15 - 17th

Disciple Now, "Power Source," starts Friday night and goes thru Sunday morning.  Pick up your hosst information at the banquet Wednesday night.

It is NOT too late to sign up!  Cost is $65. Fill out a Student Ministry Envelope.

Worship Leaders

Planning Yesterday has a heart for ministry. More than just a great show, they wish to leave viewers with an experience - to place a taste in their mouths that will leave them longing for the fullness of God. "We just want people to taste God and see that He is good. People now days try so many things that from the start only promise emptiness...drugs, premarital sex, bad chinese food...we just want to offer them something that promises a hope and a future...only good things - and that's a relationship with Jesus Christ."

After being diagnosed with cancer at age 17, Corey Harmon came to grips with the fact that tomorrow was not an option for serving God. Even the band's name, Planning yesterday, is inclusive with this thought. The name comes from Jeremiah 29:11 which states that we have been chosen by God and were given a purpose long before we ever existed. So we should plan on the things God has already set out for us. Things he has had set into motion for our lives before the beginning of time. Only His perfect and pleasing will is for certain. So, with that in mind, Corey immediately set out on a mission: to write music that would reach the soul, with lyrics that just might save it. Now 8 years in remission with a total healing, he's doing just that. Although music is his passion, Corey's mission is clearly set on honoring God in any area He desires. "Only God knows where He is leading us. God is a good God. I am just thankful to be serving Him."

JOSH & REAGAN ARE STAYING!

The Personnel Ministry Team and church staff are pleased to announce that Josh and Reagan will be staying on as Sr. and Jr. High Interns for another year.  Throughout the next year, each of them will continue to attend school and work with our student ministry in the same capacity that they have this summer.  Please join us in welcoming Josh and Reagan on board for another year!

Jr. High Home Bible Study (*New day & time!!) – Monday Nights from 6:45 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. For 6th-8th graders. Bring your friends!

Sr. High Home Bible Study – Monday Nights from 7:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.  For 9th – 12th graders. Bring your friends!

FUAGNEM! (Fired Up And Going Nuts Every Minute!) - Every 3rd Sunday Night

There will be NO FUAGNEM for the rest of August, but will continue every 3rd Sunday night starting in September.  Come hang out with us in the student building at 6:00 p.m.! We've got music, basketball, volleyball, frisbee, games, free drinks, Josh and Reagan, and of course other cool stuff!!

STUDENT WORKER "KICK OFF" - August 19th

Our Student Worker "Kick Off" will be Tuesday, August 19th at 7:00 p.m.  Dinner will be provided.  All student teachers and workers should attend.  Get ann overview of plans for the coming school year.

A new Secret Chicks Program will begin soon for all active middle and high school girls!  Questionnaires are in the Student Building and must be turned in by August 31st.  You will receive your sister's name by September 6th.  This is a commitment to encourage your Secret Chick with one thoughtful gift ($10.00 limit) and card per month.  This will let her know she is in your thoughts and prayers.  The revealing will be in December.

FAMILY BANQUET - Saturday, September 6th

All students and their families are invited to a dinner banquet on Saturday, September 6th at 6:00 p.m. in the FLC gym foyer.  Purchase your tickets starting this Sunday for $6.00 per person with a $24.00 family maximum.

STUDENT LEADERSHIP MEETING - Sunday, September 7th

The Student Leadership Team will meet Sunday, September 7th, right after the 10:45 worship service and Bible fellowships in the Student Building.
