Our Stories

ARBC is the place that our Lord has put us to serve Him. The Underwood family came to Garland in 1976 and soon united with what was then Woodhaven Baptist Church. Since then we have been on a pilgrimage of celebrations as we have watched God work in the lives of the people of God through happy times, challenging times, and some sad times.

The family called Woodhaven began in a house on a location on Apollo Road with just a few people and has grown to a large campus on Arapaho Road with a Worship Center, a Family Life Center, a Children’s Building, a Student Building, and a new name, Arapaho Road Baptist Church.

When we walk the hallways of the church, we feel loved and cared for by this spiritual family. No matter how tired or down and out we may feel when we arrive, we are rejuvenated by the warmth of God’s people at ARBC.

Christ has given us many opportunities to serve him during our years as members of this body of believers. Although we are nearing retirement from our careers, there's no such thing as retiring from the Lord's service. We are confident that God will have a special area of service for us throughout our lives.

The purposes of Arapaho Road Baptist Church are ministry, worship, discipleship, outreach, and community. We encourage you to join this body of believers and help us impact our world and join us on our journey of faith with the mighty God.
