Our mission at ARBC is to make disciples through ministry,
worship, discipleship, outreach, and community. One of
the ways we are trying to accomplish this mission is to
provide mission trip opportunities for adults and students.
There is no greater way to grow in your own relationship to
Christ than to reach out to others and share Christ with them.
In addition to Texas Baptist Men opportunities that come up as
the need arises and ongoing Garland community mission
projects, such as the apartment ministry at The Mission at Springcreek Apartments with Reach
Garland,
The Roc
ministries & ESL,
New Hope Transition Home,
and helping students read at
Hickman Elementary. We also offer the opportunity to serve in the
Dominican
Republic during a week-long mission trip.
Through Easter we will be accepting
offerings for North American Missions in remembrance of Annie
Armstrong who rallied churches to give more, pray more, and do
more for reaching people for Christ. You can place your
offering in an Annie Armstrong offering envelope, or it can be
designated on your regular offering envelope. This year’s goal
is $4,600.
Although we were unable to have our Third Friday Fellowship
at the Mission at Spring Creek Apartments last month, we still
have some great things in the works for this month. Friday,
March 19, is the scheduled time for our next Third Friday
Fellowship. God is showing us that “the harvest is ready” and
people are hungry to know Jesus! We have many volunteer
opportunities and are looking for a few people that may like
to step into a leadership role. Contact Ed, Lori or myself for
more info!
Many of you may not be aware of the nursing home churches
that we are involved in: The Church at Autumn Leaves and The
Church at Winters Park. We have been worshiping at Winters
Park for 5 years now and have made some great friends. On
February 21, we had our first baptism, Clarence McGinnis. This
was a beautiful experience to see this senior, saved most of
his life, respond to God’s leading to be baptized. If you have
a special talent to share or just would like to visit and
experience the unconditional love of these beautiful people,
let us know, and we would love for you to join us some time.
Coming soon: Good News Club, scheduled to begin on Thursday
afternoons at The Mission at Spring Creek Apartments. This is
sponsored by the Child Evangelism Fellowship and is an after
school program for younger kids to teach them about Jesus.
Lori became a Christian through a Good News Club in her
neighborhood. Jane Ching and Lori Moore will be leading this
ministry. If you would like more information or are interested
in volunteering, contact one of them. Also, we’re planning on
starting a monthly Saturday Evening Worship at the apartments
in the next month or two. We’ll need several people to help
and are praying for someone that God has called to lead this
vital ministry.
Thanks to all of you who support this work to take the
gospel of Jesus Christ to our community. I know many of you
are involved in wonderful ministries, but if you’re not sure
what the Lord has called you to do, “Just Show Up” with us and
maybe you’ll find what you’ve been missing.

A Wonderful Ministry Opportunity
The staff at Hickman Elementary has invited any interested
church members to participate in their Ranger Reading Program.
You are invited to join them for an enjoyable outreach

Elementary School participates in a program called Ranger
Reading which promotes the love of reading every morning
Monday—Friday from 8:00 until 8:25. Listeners are needed
for our young children to practice reading. All
materials are provided. Your time is valuable to them
whether it is one or several days each week.
Please prayerfully consider giving your time to this worthy
program! Contact either Rosemary Himes or Margie Perry at

Land for
Dominican Church The
church in Barahona, Dominican Republic that we have been
working with for the last three years has purchased property
for a Baptist Church in Barahona. The land was paid for by the
generous donations from members of our church. The
Dominican Baptist Convention lawyer helped with negotiations
and the next step is for a title search and survey of the
land. When that is complete we will begin building on
the property. Pastor Franklin and the Barahona church
are so excited and have begun to plan how they can clear the
land and get it ready for construction.
