Bees Cubbies Sparks Truth & Training
24-7 Trek 24-7 Journey Awana & 24-7 FAQs Staff

Cubbies meet from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. on Sunday evenings.  Cubbies should go to the secretary table in the hallway by the office of the Children's Bldg.  Cubbies check in with the Cubbie secretary, then go to their assigned class.  They are picked up at the same room.  If this is your Cubbie's first time, please check in with the Cubbie secretary and she will assign your child to a team.  Then the parent should go to the foyer of the Family Life Center to register their child.

Cubbies is an Awana club designed for boys and girls, ages 3 and 4.  It is required that all boys and girls must be 3 years of age when beginning Cubbies and be potty trained.  Cubbies will enjoy games, puppets, crafts, awards and other activities each night in Awana.  They will get to know the special characters of Cubbies:  Cubbie Bear, Luv E. Lamb, Ern E. Elephant, Zip E. Zebra and Gigi Giraffe.  These fun characters will take preschoolers on a thrilling journey through God's Word.  The will learn key basic truths about God, Jesus, salvation and the Bible.

Cubbies will memorize approximately 55 verses and up to 120 adidtional verses if they complete our extra-credit curriculum in two years.

The Bear Hugs

Each Cubbie must complete the Bear Hug Brochure to earn their vest and move into the handbook. This will take two weeks to complete.

Handbooks

All Cubbies will work in the same book except for the Cubbies who have already completed both the Hopper and Jumper books.  Each child will complete one Bear Hug per week. All Cubbies will work at the same pace, on the same verse. Each weekly lesson has a section called "Under the Apple Tree" which is an optional activity designed for the parent and child to complete together.

Parents should work with their child every week and sign the Bear Hug after their Cubbie has learned the verse. Cubbie parents are recognized as VIP's (Very Important Parents), because you play the critical role in the development of your children. Three-year-olds do not need to learn the Bible reference, but four-year-olds are expected to. Each Cubbie will be allowed two helps per verse. Each week, the verse will be reinforced throughout the Cubbie activities.

If your Cubbie is absent, or enrolls after the start of Awana, they will have to go back and complete the Bear Hugs they missed in order to earn a book award. The last date to complete books is in the last Sunday of April. If your child needs to make up missed Bear Hugs, please inform either the Cubbie Secretary or their Cubbie Leader at Coming-In Time. Other awards are given every 2-3 weeks and are worn on their vests.

Cost:  Dues - $32.00/year
          Handbooks - $9.00
          Uniform - $11.00

ARBC AWANA CUBBIES

Church Attendance

Sunday School or Church attendance is recorded. Cubbies may get credit for attending another church (even out of town), and for attending even if they were absent from Awana on the same day. Attendance awards are given twice a year and are worn on the vest.

Club Attendance

Attendance awards are given twice a year and worn on the vest. If you are out of town, your child can receive an "excused absence." This may help them receive the award if they are borderline on attendance.
